It's safe to say that Local Instinct could effortlessly blend right into the playlist at 93X at any given time. Creating sounds similar to that of early Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, the quintet making up Local Instinct (Zeb Petersen on vocals and guitar, Josh Ekerholm on keys and vocals, Dylan Jenniges on bass and spoken word, Chad Carlson sharing vocals and guitar and Jeremy Horvath on drums) nails solid hooks, moody lyrics and lingering vocals. on "Early," Petersen and gang sincerely warn "my love, you have become the morning without air, time is not your friend, what you have you're spending, take a look, don't be the next to go early."
LI's been making music since 2000. "Underwater Dream" is their third album and a confident follow-up to 2004's, "3 Empty Rooms," the group's second CD distributed throughout Europe. with such gripping accounts as "this time is my fault, voice behind the wall, singing prison blues, slamming doors, no light outside, forgive and let me out," LI has planted themselves a unique stake into the solid of local rock 'n' roll.

I have received the latest album from Local Instinct, a rock and roll band from Minneapolis, who have been recording and performing since 2000 and have developed a unique heavy sound.
They first came to my attention back in 2004 when the title track from their second album, Three Empty Rooms, was released throughout Europe.
In this 10-track new album, entitled Underwater Dream, their songs paint a picture you will not forget -- from the grind of Water to the haunting epic of Mafia.
Over the months I have been featuring the album on my late night show on Isca Radio and my two picks are the title track and My Favorite Enemy with shades of the great Rory Gallagher in the lead guitar riff, showing me these boys have a future in this rock biz.
The band lines up with Zeb Petersen on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, great guitarist Chad Carlson on lead and vocals, Josh Ekerholm on keyboards and vocals, Dylan Jenniges on bass and newest member of the band, Todd Faulhaber, on drums who keeps a solid beat and gives them another vocalist.
Local Instinct has opened for many national acts since 2000 including Dio, Whitesnake, Journey, Edgar Winter, War, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Joe Cocker.
In July 2005 they played their largest gig at the Moondance Jam in Walker, Minnesota, opening for Lynyrd Skynrd in front of 20,000 people.
If you like heavy rock music and would like to findout more about the band go to the website www.moondancejam.com.
You can find their latest album on the Sound Knowledge record label as the band is not currently signed to a major record label. I have two copies of that latest album up for grabs for the first two people who e-mail me at dougparish@hotmail.com with the correct title of the album and they will enjoy an excellent album of heavy rock.
